A lot of people have expressed their envy that Matt can do so much himself.

I decided to give it a try.

I was without a sink for about a week. And we had house guests haha.

My sink is back! No more using the bathroom sink.
Close up look of the finished tile.

The Reverence Box

So I have been trying to put together a "Quiet Book" for my girls for....well lets just say a while and leave it at that. I had it almost done and then a certain little girl found the stuff and I lost most of it.

This past week I found some great ideas on "Pinterest". Yes I am one of the many people addicted to pinterest. I decided to do my kids book in more of a flannel board way than the laminated versions. I found out how to get your printed pictures right on to flannel using this lady's tutorial: A Little of This---A Little of That Blogger
It was super easy! I suggest using the un-stiffened felt just for the record for most of the activities.

These sheets of felt were $0.99 / sheet at Michael's. These are the stiffened one's that I thought would work best, now I am kind of wishing I had gotten more of the un-stiffened ($0.29/sheet) The un-stiffened just seem to stick better to the flannel board once they have been transferred.

Next, print your pictures onto transfer paper.
I lined the inside of lid with felt so that it could be the "flannel board".
I chose a box instead of a binder. Hence the reason we are calling it a "Reverence Box" instead of the traditional Quiet Book.

This Noah's Ark didn't end up exactly like I planned but oh-well. I still think it works. First you cut out your ark, do a second one that is basically the same and sew them together. I did cut outs for windows and cut the top part from the bottom. Only do the cut outs on one of them.

Here is the finished Ark

I added a pony so that they can do the pony's hair. The pony was printed without hair. I used a safety pin to tie the yarn to and the stuck the pin through the pony.
(Stiffened felt will work best for the pony because the felt will tear)

Once you have everything cut out, it's a good idea to put it in zip-lock bags and label the bag with the contents.

Everything you will need to keep your kids entertained can go in this box. There is enough room for treats, a small book, crayons, etc.
